Article: Fountain Inn to discuss pharmacy plans

The Greenville News (SC)

2006/5/10

CVS will break ground on a new freestanding store at North Main and Fairview streets within the next four weeks. The new location will replace the current one adjacent to Bi-Lo.

Though it is another CVS going up, it is going up in a prime location downtown. It is in walkable distance of some close neighborhoods.

It is unclear what tenant may move into the current CVS when it moves. Bi-Lo is rumored to be expanding.

Fountain Inn has been working on developing a streetscape plan to bring more parking and foot traffic into downtown. A study was recently ongoing to finalize a master plan. I am unaware of its current status.

Narrowing Main St would be a step in the right direction. Hopefully they can get it done.

Main Street receives much traffic to warrant its need to maintain its four lanes. It will be more effective to build a parking lot/deck somewhere and encourage walking.

This was mistakenly moved to the Anderson subforum; it was in the South Carolina forum when it should have technically been in the Greenville subforum. Thread moved.
