This is copy/pasted from another local forum:

A group of concerned library users have formed a new non-profit called the Providence Community Library (PCL). The PCL is asking the city to give them the money allocated to operate the libary branches and they will keep all nine branches open with at least the same level of service.

They are also sponsoring a community forum this Thursday, January 15th, at 7PM at the Rochambeau Library, 708 Hope Street.

Forums to debate future of city library system

Representatives of the organization proposing to take over the city branch library system and the one that currently operates the system will speak at a series of public forums at local branches to explain their plans for the coming fiscal year.
