Soon to be displaced by Greenville's long-awaited children's museum. I am glad that more southern cities are developing or improving their places for children. It is an important part of quality living.

Edventure Children's Museum is about to expand. The pavilion will be added as part of Canal Front park at the Gervais Street Bridge. It will be the crowning touch for the museum.

Soon to be displaced by Greenville's long-awaited children's museum.

I suppose it's payback for the Colonial Center trumping the Bi-Lo Center, thus giving the "state's largest arena" title to Columbia. We'll see what the continuing "arms race" has yet to unfold, LOL.

But like I said, Edventure is going to expand anyway, and the learning experience will spill over into Canal Front Park, the Three Rivers Greenway and Congaree River.

I'm not viewing this as any type of "battle for the largest" designation. In my opinion it is all great work by our cities in providing world-class learning facilities for our next generation to enjoy growing up with. Believe me when I say that I am very jealous of everything today's youth has specifically built for their enjoyment and education. Greenville's new children's museum will be part of the cultural magnet known as Heritage Green, which already is home to two highly-acclaimed art museums, a well-known theatre, the second largest library in the state, and the only regional history museum covering the history of the entire upstate - plus plans exist to add even more to this well established downtown cultural center. Today's kids have so much more to do it is just mind-boggling.
