The city of Hartford rises out of the forest in this shot from a mountain about 10 miles east of the Connecticut Capital.

Here are a couple of pictures featuring the riverfront.

The first is looking north with Charter Oak Landing in the foreground. The second is from East Hartford looking at the band shell, the River Terrace with cruise boats at the docks.

From a room at the Marriott, day and night. The bright white cupola in the middle of the shot is the Old State House.

100 Pearl Street is too short (16 stories) to show up in most skyline shots but it is a very good looking building.

The front of the old Hartford Times Building will be saved and incorporated into the Wadsworth Atheneum museum complex. The Atheneum is America

Would you happen to know why it was named Asylum Hill?

In New England they had these not so subtle names for things back in the day... so I'm assuming there was an insane asylum up on that. In my hometown of Norwich, CT there is a Jail Hill that housed the city's jail and an Asylum Street that was home to the insane asylum...
