4 years seems outrageous to me. How long do rapists get? No wonder the US has the highest incarceration rate in the country.

decriminalize possession of most drugs, or even better, legalize them and tax them. most prisoners will be freed.

but i'm unsure of your statement "the US has the highest incarcertaion rate in the country". did you mean RI has the highest?

My bad, I meant US has the highest in the world. And yes, I totally agree that posession of most drugs (at least pot, shrooms and acid) should be legal.

do we really? it's probably because we don't automatically have death sentences for menial crimes (some countries execute you for possession).
