Photo tour: Edisto Memorial Gardens, Orangeburg, SC

7 posts in this topic

While back home for Mother's Day, I decided to go out to Orangeburg's crowning glory, Edisto Memorial Gardens, and get some shots. For a brief history of the gardens, check here. The gardens are right in the middle of the city, adjacent to the western portion of downtown, and actually consists of several parks and gardens: Centennial Park, Horne Wetlands Park, a butterfly garden, a botanical garden, the main section of the actual rose gardens north of U.S. 301, and a smaller section of gardens south of U.S. 301.

Looks like a great place! That is definately a beautiful garden. I like seeing SC's natural (and manicured) beauty :)

I haven't been there in 5+ years, the improvements look great. It's a beautiful place along the longest black water river in the world, I love the boardwalk.

Thanks for the pics.

^You'll have to do that, Jerseyman. Orangeburg County is a naturally beautiful county.

The wetlands park reminds me of a miniature version of Congaree.

Thanks so much for posting those photos. I've always wondered about that park but I don't get down that way that much. Now I see that I need to make a trip there.
