btoy, any idea when the renderings of these twin condo midrise towers will be released?

I am not sure we can really refer to seven story buildings as "towers." The Hampton Inn at Riverplace is eight or nine floors and is anything but a tower (not even as tall as the Peace center). :P But I too am anxious to see the renderings.

But on the hill that it will be sitting on, I'd refer to it as a tower.

Probubly in three weeks. It is designed so that every unit will have views of both downtown and the mountains.

Email I just received regarding this from Bob Ellis:

Your source is correct regarding the two proposed 7 story condo bldgs. A modified and reduced version of Villgio Verde is still in study and land negotiation on another site in that same area, what we call the "Mid-town ".

Too bad the Villagio Verde redesign will be smaller than the original plans. I consider the original to be rather small already, but even smaller is a disappointment. I wonder if they are looking at land across I-385 on Congaree, or Woods Lake?

The original plans were just going to be too expensive to build. I know where the new site is and will share when they are ready to go public. The new versions design may be different as well.

So Bob Ellis is calling this area Midtown also? Seems the term is catching on!

According to the Greenville Journal, a jazz festival could possibly be coming to downtown Greenville in the next year or two.

The details were/are being worked out, but it will definitely happen. It should be a major attraction, if all goes as planned.

Speaking of I-185, we need a sign on the interstate (I-85) telling drivers that Greenville Hospital System University Medical Center is Exit 42 (the I-185 exit). It is the largest hospital in the state, after all!

Can we comfirm that. You know how some folk are. :P
