that's the brand new fountain at Campus Martius park in the literal center of the greater downtown area. That's the Compuware world headquarters you see in the background. It's really a great new park area that totally revitalized that section of downtown. the institute of Public spaces or whatever its called ranked it as the 4th best public space in north america. Once it is finished being built (its still not totally done) it will be even more awesome

Must have just breezed by this, but I can't seem to identify this building. It must be outside of the city?

No way, that's either in New Center or near Cass Park, though I'm betting on New Center. *crosses fingers*

I just found out this morning that my offer was accepted, and I'm now a home owner in the City of Detroit (well, as soon as the closing is done)!!

Michi, I don't know where that building is either. It's sad...I know right where virtually every single photo in these three threads was taken at, but I don't know that one. I'm going to have to side with Wordsmith on this one and say New Center.

Just off 7 mile. I have a nice view of the U of D Jesuit football field out my window.

Ahh, ok. That's a nice area...my friend was looking to buy a house there, but then ended up buying over in Corktown.

I would have prefered to be closer to the city center, but an opportunity came up here, and I happen to know a couple families in the neighborhood so I could not turn down the opportunity.

Yeah, I know how that goes. That's why I'm here in the southwest side instead of downtown. I'm still only 3 miles from downtown, so it's not too bad. It's actually very diverse here, and I'm only about a mile from Mexicantown, although I have yet to actually eat at any of the restaurants there.

That is an apartment building on Seward St. just north of New Center Commons. There are quite a few beautiful old apartment buildings on that street.

Awesome! I know that area is very nice so I'll have to go take a look myself sometime soon.
