Westin on Lower Broad

First of all, the Broadway frontage looks alot more street friendly and "Nashville"...and with a little less heighth, it really doesn't seem so towering. Plus...it's a great "step-up" to the Pinnacle.

Does anyone know how tall this is supposed to be? I tried looking at the new articles, an old article, and early pages but did not see anything. I don't think the old design was that bad, and I wish the condos weren't scrapped. The new design isn't too bad either, but it seems a little uninteresting. The renderings can't be judged as the actual building sometimes, so maybe once the hotel is done along with the Pinnacle and Encore it will look good. I think this is a good project to get done.

WOW! This design is so much of an improvement. I liked the old design, until I saw this one, and see what Nashville is truly potential of!

If I remember correctly, the height is around 212' with 16 floors

Looks more like a hotel than a hospital. Much better design I have to say.

I prefer it too. It looks farther away from Broadway, and will fit in better with projects such as The Encore and The Pinnacle.

I do not like the wing whichjuts out towards Broadway, looks like an addition drawn up by a different designer. not bad overall - just go ahead and build the freaking thing already.

I'm pretty sure the old height was 200 Ft. According to Emporis, it is still listed at the old 19 story design at 61 meters or 200 Ft. The article says this new design is 15 feet shorter, so that would make it 185 Ft.

But I know several of the local articles from last year, from TCP and Tennessean, said it was 219' or 65M, and I did see that 61M listing on Emporis... I'm not sure which is true. If you look at the first pages of this forum, there are many more mentions of 220'

Even if the Westin brand is not a certainty, I'm sure the developers will partner with one of the upscale chains for this project. I'm anxious to see the construction cam get going on this one, joining the Pinnacle cam. As a Nashvillian who travels extensively for work, I've watched many of the construction projects over the last eight years via webcams. Also love all those pics that are posted here.....keep 'em coming, folks!

And I reiterate, why does it always to go Franklin/CS? I think this will greatly reduce a Westin being the namesake of the lower-Broad proposal, and perhaps be replaced by maybe a Grand Hyatt?

Maybe this is the wakeup call Downtown Nashville needs to stop being so tight. Maybe they'll finally realize that if they don't, then Franklin/Cool Springs will.
