You are right about the size of the Houston metro area and pre Covid I always had to be careful where I book hotels depending on where I am going. I am guessing the traffic is less somewhat now but the size of Houston metro area is just slightly smaller than the commonwealth of Massachusetts. Dallas Fort Worth metroplex is even more sprawling!

Yes indeed KJHburg! I am a lifelong resident in a mid sized city Baton Rouge. Any time i visit Houston or DFW Metroplex always astonished thinking "how can a place get so big" ?? Driving up the North Dallas Tollway up to Frisco is an impressive corridor!

Lots of photos but since I only make it down here every few years I will put up 2 years worth LOL.

I present to you downtown Houston. And despite a modern very tall skyline they have saved many older buildings and turned them into hotels or apartments. And one this Sunday afternoon saw a good number of people at the Discovery Green park and the Texas Street area which has lots of restaurants and bars.

Here is the new Allen tower on you guessed it Allen Parkway overlooking and next to Buffalo Bayou Park. This tower will have such great views.

Miscellaneous downtown skyline and building photos. Despite having no zoning and you can build almost anything anywhere there are plenty of historical high rises in downtown Houston most converted to hotels or apartments.

Downtown Houston photo drop one. Today a day of sun rain humidity repeat and repeat. From street level and other post will be from above. I am sweating bullets walking around downtown and there is an ice rink out there at Discovery Green. Houston's motto should be "We can Make it Happen! "
