The Honolulu Festival Kicks off Mar 5-7!

The Honolulu Festival was established in 1994, and is Hawaii's premier event promoting cultural understanding, economic cooperation and ethnic harmony between the people of Hawaii and the Asia-Pacific region. The first Honolulu Festival was held in 1995 and attracted more than 87,500 residents and visitors. In the last five years, attendance has steadily increased to 311,283 last year. The Honolulu Festival is supported by the Honolulu Festival Foundation, a non-profit organization formed in 2000 to oversee Festival activities including day-to-day management, fundraising and community outreach.

5,500 performers and artists from Japan are expected to

participate. In addition, hundreds of school children

experience the educational opportunities of the Honolulu

Festival supported by nearly 1,500 local volunteers.
