Took some shots of the South Side's exploding nightlife scene last night... two new major clubs have opened up recently... with Diesel slated to open next weekend

when the sun goes down... Pittsburgh gets ready to party

the thing I love about Carson St.... is that it's not just the best nightlife district ever... but it's also a very functional and practical neighborhood... grocery stores, clothing stores, music stores, dentists, hardware stores, gyro places, gyms, everything you need is here

Very cool Evergrey, one of the more dynamic areas of Pittsburgh. Great to capture all that growth on film finally. This should change many misconceptions about the 'burgh in some parts of the country!

Great pics, as always. There seems to always be something new on the South Side!

I am reminded of a "discussion" I once had with someone online about Pittsburgh. At one point he said "East Carson St. does not a nightlife make." Even ignoring the fact that he evidently forgot about the Strip and some other areas, it was a dumb comment. Carson is obviously a great nighlife spot. Maybe the guy hadn't been here since 1990 or something, LOL.

I was in town this weekend and spent some time on the Southside. I always wondered if someone had the $$$ to take over the properties by 10th (even though occupied and put up a really nice complex of apartments overlooking the river and downtown).

I suppose it would be a fortune to buy out the company that operates there and level that old brick building though.

I am pretty sure the Dee's they are talking about for getting a good beer is the one in Regent Sq. I may be wrong and the one on Carson is run by the same guy but I am pretty confident the one in Regent Sq is what Esquire was talking about.

Great pics!

I've never heard of a Dee's in Regent Square.

Anyways... here's a link.

Thanks for clarifying Evergrey. I knew I wasn't hallucinating.

PghUsa, there ain't nothing like D's on a Sunday with a gret dog and some great beer.

You know we are quite lucky to have two out of the top ten places in the country to get a beer. They are teh Sharp Edge and D's in regent sq. Incredible selections!
