Detroit Zoo

I heard a couple of months ago that the Detroit Zoo was closing due to lack of financial from the City of Detroit. Is the Zoo still open?

That was a "scare-tactic" by the city of Detroit to get the region to saddle some of the burden.

ugh, I hate that crap. But it does make a little sense, the zoo is a regional amenity, it benefits all the communities whether they want to admit it or not. Not to mention that the zoo is actually located in affluent Oakland County, it's a wonder that didn't happen years ago.
