Great shots. I was curious was this section in West Berlin or part of the east?

Mitte is part of the former East Berlin.

Great pics, I especially like that metro or lightrail car, very impressive. Looks like East Berlin has shed its soviet bloc shackels pretty well. You can still see some evidence of the communist style architecture but looks like western investment has gone a long way in having function MEET form.

Thanks for the info. To be honest I hadn't expected an area of East Berlin to come along as well as it has. I'd always heard horrible things about how things looked under communist rule.
