My family has a house on Green Hill Beach, so I'd have to vote for that, great not so crowded beach, though I haven't been to enough to make an informed decision. One of these days I'll make it out to Block Island.

My Top 3 for the best mix of both beach and entertainment/drinks/food:

1.) Narragansett Town Beach with Amalfi and Coast Guard House right within walking distance.

2. ) Easton's Beach on the Newport/Middletown line. On a few occassions, there was red tide, but you can't go wrong with Atlantic Beach Club.

3.) Misquamicut in Westerly with Paddy's Beach Club next door.

I'm sure there are plenty of other spots, but those are my 3 favorite places to waste away beautiful summer weekends -- weather permitting, of course
