Pine Hills Casino- Isle of Capri

4 posts in this topic

The new casino resort hotel planned for western Harrison County by the Isle of Capri will take the name, if not the form, of the long lost Pine Hills Hotel, once a fixture of Bay St. Louis. The rendering of the property reveals a 500 room building of no particular grace, even if it does make a few groping attempts at elegance. Still, it should be good for the economics of the area.

I would reproduce the rendering of the hotel here, but it is under copyright.

Pine Hills Project Shelved

The Isle of Capri has canceled its plans to build a casino and hotel in western Harrison County. PErhaps they will concentrate upon improving their property in Biloxi. Closing the signature restaurant and replacing it with a more ordinary one, however, is not an encouraging sign of things to come.

An Encouraging Sign?

The shelving of the project in western Harrison County may wel mean major improvements at the Isle of Capri in Biloxi. It would make sense to concentrate efforts on one property rather than building another so-so casino hotel in "the middle of nowhere" (as one industry executive put it). It may be some time before the nature of the plans for the Biloxi property are known, but I'd bet that they will announce something before the middle of next year.
