NEW YORK [4] West Side Lower Manhattan

Following the Staten Island ferry, I walked along the west side towards Battery Park City :

Some really nice condominiums along the Hudson River. This area is quiet and beautiful - a huge contrast to the dense and crowded streets of Lower Manhattan a short walk away. What's surprising to me was how serene the area was. There wasn't a lot of traffic noise at all. It didn't seem like downtown.

It occurs to me that it was a brilliant move to put that building in Jersey. Put in Manhattan, and it gets lost amid the tall trees. Put it in Jersey, and it stands alone with all the effect of a building twice as tall.

I agree about the Jersey tower. It's a very nice-looking one.
