Raleigh one of fastest growing cities in U.S.

RALEIGH -- The U.S. Census Bureau reports Raleigh is one of the fastest growing cities in America.

Other North Carolina cities and towns that made the list include Cary at 22 and Charlotte as the 40th.

The number one city on the list is Elk Grove, California, a suburb of Sacramento.

In North Carolina, Raleigh ranked 13th with a growth rate of 4.3 percent. It was followed by neighboring Cary at 22nd with 3.3 percent growth, and Charlotte at 40th at 2.1 percent expansion.

In North Carolina, Raleigh ranked 13th with a growth rate of 4.3 percent. It was followed by neighboring Cary at 22nd with 3.3 percent growth, and Charlotte at 40th at 2.1 percent expansion.

It is even more impressive when you look at the raw numbers. Raleigh added just under 14,000 people to the city this past year. According to an article, they expect the number to jump even more in the next few years with all of the newly planned developments and condo projects throughout the area. The area is definitely on roids!
