New Urbanism in Michigan

To anyone who is interested in New Urbanism, specifically New Urbanism in Northwest Michigan, there is an absolutely wonderful publication that has been created by the Michigan Land Use Institute. It highlights some projects that fit the parameters of NU in Northern Michigan, which seems to have more of this going on, than other regions of the state.

The publication, titled "Going to Town", is of the same high quality that this organization has become known for. Not only is it of high visual quality, but its content is very good. It talks about New Urbanism in very simple and somewhat unique terms, equating walkability to how long it takes for an ice-cream cone to melt.

Good stuff.
