MPLS: New Guthrie Theater

The Tony Award-winning theater is finally in its new home. The 250,000-square-foot theater includes a new 1,100-seat auditorium, 700-seat proscenium stage, 250-seat studio theater, new classrooms, 11 bars and 2 restaurants. The $125 million theater was designed by French architect Jean Nouvel, his first project in North America. This project is one of several new cultural projects now opened in Minneapolis, including the Walker Art Center addition by Herzog & de Meuron, the new Central library by Ceasar Pelli, and the Children

I wasn't sure how I was going to like this thing until I rode my bike by it at night last weekend and I was sold. I love the lighting - even the skyway looks cool at night. That neighborhood is looking great.
