Should the NFL and NBA let other cities host their drafts

7 posts in this topic

I was watching the NBA draft and was wondering should the NFL and NBA adopt a cyclic host city system. One advantage is more people would be able to attend. Also we won't have to put with all the analyst placating to the NYC fans. Honestly no one in NYC cares about any other team as expected. Just once I would like to see some fan reactions from other teams. Especially the NFL draft. PLus how annoying are the JETS fans  ...come I know someone feels the same way I do.

The NBA actually did this in the 90's and early 2000's. Cities other than New York that hosted the draft over this time include:

Washington D.C.

Detroit

Portland

Indianapolis

Toronto

Vancouver

Charlotte

Minneapolis

East Rutherford

Not sure why they stopped doing it though?

maybe the nba draft would follow the prior year's champion -- an additional perk to the title city?

Yes. I don't understand why it's held in NYC yearly anyway.

Yeah I'm getting tired of this.

That is actually a good idea.

It does sound like a good idea, but the players don't care. It's all about the $ at this level.
