The Columbus area got good news today. American Eurocopter, a plant which manufactures helicopters will receive a $43.1 m contract --possibly worth $2 billion over a ten year period. This is certainly good news for the area.

Awesome news. I didn't realize American Eurocopter has a plant in Columbus, not that is suprises me since I always hear that the city has a substantial and growing industrial base.

I believe that AE currently employs 250 people at the Golden Triangle Airport plant, and expects to hire another 150 or so under the new contract. That in addition to the 1000 or so jobs expected to be generated by the new steel mill, which should start operation in about a year.
