Little ROck and A professional NBA TEAM!

I think it would be good in next few years with all the advancements in downtown Little rock coming it would bring money and tourism and bring a little flavor. The main concern is population but if Salt Lake City can do it ( Utah Jazz city pop. 178, 000) in Utah we can to! All we need is support and fans willing to spend money! It could be a big advancement in the city of Little Rock!

Highly, highly unlikely.

1) Our population is not as centralized as Utah's.

2) We don't have any major Little Rock businessman to anchor the project, other than Stephens, who is really spread out anyhow.

3) We have an NBDL team, just like Austin, Tulsa, Anaheim, and other, larger cities.

Yea, Johnny summed that up pretty well. Keep in mind that Salt Lake City's metro population of nearly 1.6 million is nearly twice as large as Little Rock's, and that alone can make a huge difference when you're trying to sell out 44 home games every year.

I love LR but it could never happen without a major population surge. There are several cities like OKC, Louisville, and Las Vegas that are on the waiting list. LR is well down that list, or more frankly off of it.

That said, it is a desirable next tier market which is why the ABA and NBADL were so eager to get into it and that the NBA is always eager to play exhibition games in. Hosting the SEC Women's tourney and now the NCAA Men's 1st 2 rounds shows LR is coming up in the world but just not to that level.
