I know that Jordan Frayser Dodge/Jeep has opened its new location there. What are the other future developments (auto dealership, retail, or restauranteer) coming to this area?

Dont know about Academy Drive, but Colonial Properties is set to begin construction soon on a $60M mixed-use development including hotels, a movie theater, and retail. The site is at I-459, Eastern Valley, and Pocahontus Road. Good news for Bessmer!
