Bridgeport is Connecticut's Largest City

Does anyone know that Bridgeport is CT's largest city. I dont think it gets enough recognition. I wish I had some photos of it.

I always thought the largest city was Hartford. I guess I was wrong. Actually, I'd never even heard of Bridgeport before I joined the fourms. LOL.

Oh that was kinda mean, only kinda though. Bridgeport, like most of Cannecticut's cities is very very poor. It has a lot of run down neighbourhoods. It is extremely disheartening given how good the bones of the city are, and how it has such a great location right on Long Island Sound. It's location is also great on account of it's connections to I-95, the Amtrak Acela Northeast Corridor, and MetroNorth into New York.

It'll come around someday, but now it is sad.

New Haven: 124K

Hartford: 122K

Stamford: 107K

I think CT has the most cities over 100k than any other New England state

Brockton, New Bedford, and Fall River are all close behind with 90K+

Although Bridgeport has a larger city population now, I believe Hartford has a much larger metro area and at one time had a larger city population than Brigeport.

It does have the largest metro in CT and it did have the largest city pop at one time.

You know, since springfield is bigger than hartford, I wonder if the metro will officially change to springfield/hartford. a la san jose/SF/oak
