Actually, I'd never even heard of Bridgeport before I joined the fourms.  LOL.

If you'd ever been there, you'd wish you'd never joined the forums.

Oh that was kinda mean, only kinda though. Bridgeport, like most of Cannecticut's cities is very very poor. It has a lot of run down neighbourhoods. It is extremely disheartening given how good the bones of the city are, and how it has such a great location right on Long Island Sound. It's location is also great on account of it's connections to I-95, the Amtrak Acela Northeast Corridor, and MetroNorth into New York.

It'll come around someday, but now it is sad. :(

Bridgeport: 140K

New Haven: 124K

Hartford: 122K

Stamford: 107K

Waterbury: 107K

Massachusetts also has 5:

Boston: 589,281

Worcester: 174,962

Springfield: 151,915

Lowell: 104,901

Cambridge: 101,807

All 2002 numbers

Brockton, New Bedford, and Fall River are all close behind with 90K+
