I totally agree. Remember, this project is pretty much right on the edge of the historic district in the eastern part of downtown.

It reminds me a bit of 1441 Main actually. The renderings do a great job with the reflections in the windows.

I love the virtual tour

I have done some development back in my day but it is amazing what they can do with marketing today. That looks so real and you can really see what the floor to ceiling glass does for the condos.

I am a little confused about the new Vsion Condos on Main Street. Are they renovating a current building or building a completely new one. If so does anyone know what intersection and the height? Their website didn't help me too much although it did give some nice renderings.

The Vsion building is a renovation project located at the corner of Lady and Marion streets, across from the Lady Street post office. The building is now eight stories, but two stories will be added. I'm not sure of the final height though.

They have signs up all over Columbia of Vsion. There's one on Farrow/Clemson Rd. One on Parklane/Two Notch and some more, wow!

I will be sure to go and take pics for everyone. I also heard this week a VERY high profile Columbia resident is combining 4 condos of the 8th fl of Vsion that totals over 3,500 sq ft+. I will try to find out who.

Unlikely to be Steve Spurrier since he already has a condo at Carolina Walk. Dave Odom and Ray Tanner do too.

Mayor Bob; he needs the room since he has 5 kids

I have an update to pass along; I stopped by the Vsion condominium development in downtown Columbia at lunch today and it is to begin construction in September with completion in late Fall 2008. The current 8-story building will be completely gutted except for the steel and reinforced concrete and then have 2 additional floors added to it. Here are some renderings:

This is pretty cool - they are buying an electric car for an amenity at the condos. Nice to see some flex car going on here in columbia. See info here

Capitol Places is definately on the cutting edge for Columbia

Capitol Places will be having a Going Green Party from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Wednesday, August 1, at 1321 Lady St. The event, which is free and open to the public, will feature Vsion

I hope not. It was one of my more favorite ones.

It was listed on CP's website yesterday, but the Vsion website didn't work. As of about a week ago, the sales office was still open onsite. I'll drive by this week and see if there's any news. It doesn't sound good, however. I'd be disappointed if this project died, but it does look like they're about to start on the renovation of the old main fire station.

I just emailed CP to see if Vsion has been scrapped. It wouldn't surprise me, with the state of the economy.

I believe the project has been shelved. This is a shame, but it appears that the market just can't support it right now. I think CP is a great developer, however, and wish them well with their other efforts!

Yeah, I hope the project is just delayed. I can't imagine that they would put all that work into the building and not eventually follow through.
