Flew out to San Antonio this morning on a completely full Southwest 738 (good luck WKU against UTSA). The first two pictures are a before/after of the pedestrian bridge, the first was taken 11/2021. Airport was packed but no significant waits at bag drop, TSA, or most of the retail. Hotel skin is almost done and the expansion space of garage could open any day it looks like, at least from level 5. I still think the grand lobby looks tacky with the stanchions in place, but what do I know.

To help lend perspective to the glass jetway debate, they can't even get the fancy monochromatic glass in D to not make it 100° with a hint of sunlight, do you really want to stand in a glass tunnel run by the same people?

    Sixty-eight new restaurants, bars and shops were opened by airport concessions manager Fraport Tennessee since regular air travel resumed.

    Another 15 vendors will open at a new terminal marketplace in September.

    "The marketplace will have a center core with a common seating area and greenery," Fraport Tennessee Vice President Matt Jennings. "You can sit in these restaurants and look out at the airfield."

    More than 60% of vendors are established locally and more than 40% are owned by women and minorities. Local brands coming to BNA include Smashville, the Titans, Slim and Husky's pizzeria, Hattie B's hot chicken and ACME Feed & Seed.

    "We're setting a new benchmark with this amount of local activity and presence," Jennings said. "We're going to have 85 new units when we're finished."

March passenger numbers released today. 1,927,948. This is up 22.2% over March of last year, and is just shy of the all time record set in October 2022. We are up 20.3% over FY 2022 so far. If this holds we will end FY 2023 over 22 million passengers.

This week I picked up a family member; the cell phone parking lot is now at the old Genesco Building on Murfreesboro Rd.  It's 3.5 miles away from the terminal.  Surely this is temporary.  I saw the street wayfinding signage with the address for the cell phone lot (1415 Murfreesboro Pk), and I knew immediately where that was and couldn't believe it.  By the way, Genesco is abandoned; I guess they went remote.  Looks like it could be used for an apocalyptic movie set.  I'm flying out again this week; looking forward to exploring more of the new digs this visit.

Genesco is now headquartered in the Highland Ridge Tower on Marriott Drive, off Elm Hill Pike. I believe the building and grounds on Murfreesboro Pike was purchased by the city.

The airport purchased these buildings as they are in the path of the future runway extension.

I believe the security area of D will be additional ticketing space.

I flew out and returned via the A gates, this week. It's still pretty dismal and not a great first impression. Absolutely packed as well, returning yesterday.  The trek to the ride share also needs work.  On the positive side, security worked well and everything, other than  the A wing, is beautiful.

Thankfully MNAA is replacing A as part of the next round of expansion.

I believe the A concourse will get a whole new expansion and makeover after the international gates are open.
