I’m excited about Spirit coming to town. What appeals to me about them more than Frontier, Sun Country, and Allegiant is the fact that their routes are daily and year round. Trying to plan a trip with Frontier’s less than daily, slapdash seasonal route offerings - constantly beginning and ending and restarting routes- is an absolute headache. With Spirit you can be assured that no matter the time of year and day of the week there will be a super cheap option to the cities they offer. I’m looking forward to seeing them expand, especially as my family expands and flying becomes more expensive! Got another Nashvillian due in November :)

Congrats on the bambino buddy!!  We all know you just did it to boost those population numbers though.  lol ;)

Do you go to the viewing spot by FedEx? Great shots and nice to see some new aircraft at BNA!

Thanks for all the awesome photos of the planes and the new concourse!

There is something that has been bothering me ever since I was last at BNA that I was hoping someone here could explain to me. I was trying to get into the Economy lot from Donelson Pike because I am too cheap to park elsewhere, and at the entrance I encountered hundreds of Lyfts and Ubers crawling along the path that I marked with red arrows - driving all the way up, turning around, and then coming all the way back down, a process that took about 10 minutes. It seemed almost Kafkaesque, all that gas and time to go absolutely nowhere. It would seem to me that a new rideshare vehicle coming in to wait for an arrival would have no trouble making it from Donelson to the Lyft & Uber lot marked on the map without doing this loop, and likewise a rideshare leaving the airport with an arriving passenger would have no business being in this area since the vast majority would just get on I-40 directly. So why were they all doing this? The only reason I can imagine is that due to the unfortunate positioning of the entrance to the Lyft/Uber parking lot (blue arrow), coupled with the lack of a road that follows the green arrow, a rideshare driver that just dropped off a passenger and then wanted to wait for a new arrival in the lot might have to execute this maneuver. Does anyone have a better explanation??

^^Probably because the airport is easy pickins' for Uber / Lyft and they only allow the ride-sharing cars X number of spaces to park and wait.  Uber / Lyft normally ping drivers closest to the airport first...so I'm guessing someone discovered that this little stretch of road gets pings faster than the Uber/Lyft lot...so to "win" a rider, they may drive up and down that road and wait.

^^ Interesting, thanks! That makes sense. I would guess the little roundabout was probably originally for the terminal buses that seem to collect and wait in that side-aisle (the layout of the roads also makes more sense if that tiny Lyft and Uber carve-out lot were still connected to the main terminal lot) and there's been some repurposing over time.

It is due to ride share.  The reason you go that way is because you are not allowed to make U-Turn where the blue circle is and they direct you this way.   This is only for cars who dropped someone off and get another pickup.  Your position in line is held, but you cannot get the ping until you enter the ride share lot.   (The crazy thing is people go sit in the ride share lot and turn off their app off to block other from getting in.  (Hmm, wonder if anyone pays them to do that).
