Cool! I prefer Southwest over American Airlines anytime. Glad they're getting LOVE at BNA. Glad also that my preferred above all Delta is expanding at BNA too. Still very inclined to retire in the Midstate, but that's still about 15 years off. Still racking up my points though.

I flew Southwest thursday-sunday of this past week.   Was still in Concourse C,  half of which has tarps/blocked off.   Didn't realize D was open until i was on my way to baggage claim, but was ready to get my mask off after having it on for 3 straight hours, so i went straight for the suitcase and the door.  The pictures of Concourse D in this forum are nice.    I did park in the 2nd Terminal Garage (southern most one), and thought that was super nice, and very well lit.

Nashville airport and air lift:

Nashville International Airport's new Concourse D opened on July 16 with six domestic Southwest Airlines gates. As of now, flights are scheduled for 76 non-stop markets in August, which the NCVC says surpasses the number of non-stop markets serviced at BNA before the pandemic.

• Southwest: At its lowest point, Southwest had 42 flights daily at BNA, and now they are up to 100 daily flights. By the end of the pandemic, they plan to have more than before.
• British Airways: The NCVC says they’re in “early communications” with British Airways, and the airline has indicated they plan to bring back the Nashville flight. The date is TBD due to travel bans and quarantines.

 

Brand new Boeing 787-10 Dreamliner will land BNA coming soon in September.

The British Airways nonstop to London will only return when the US gets COVID-19  under control.  Sadly most the world does not welcome Americans at this time because of our failed response to the pandemic.

 I did see yesterday that airline bookings are leveling off or dropping now because of the resurgence of COVID. I think the number I saw was we are at 30 % of the levels we were at last year. This was a nationwide number.

Minute Suites, a boutique company that provides private rooms located inside airport terminals, with 5 tiny spaces expected to be ready in Nashville Airport's new Concourse D by November.

Minute Suites rooms include a daybed sofa that also can serve as a bed, a sound-masking system, temperature control, Netflix, DirecTV, a workstation and WiFi.

The rental price is based per suite (and not per person). One hour (the minimum) is $40, with 15-minute increments up to two hours at $11.25 each. The cost for two hours is $90, with 15-minute increments after that at $8.75. And extended eight-hour stay (after 9 p.m.) costs $165. A shower, priced at $20, can be part of a rental purchase. A shower with no rental purchase is $30.

A permit, valued at about $466,600, has been issued, with Wellsprings Builders to handle the construction work.

Needless to say our firefighters at @Fly_Nashville like their new ride. Just another example of BNA taking passenger safety to a whole new level.

This new Rosenbauer Panther 6x6 is an impressive piece of equipment. We hope never to have to use it for its intended purpose. But if the need arises, we are equipped to handle it.

"Lyrical Journeys" by Houston, Texas artists Shane Allbritton and Norman Lee. Measuring 90 feet long and 17.5 feet wide, it is constructed from 14 pairs of steel bridge plates and 20 linear strings of LED light, which create an interactive experience.

 

 The interior ceilings of Concourse D features local wood and LEED Silver Certified LED lighting and fixtures.

 Local photography decorates the walls of BNA’s new Concourse D.

 Currently, Southwest Airlines will operate all 6 new gates in BNA’s new Concourse D

 BNA’s new Concourse D adds 6 domestic aircraft gates, new dining and retail offerings and a new Central Utility Plant.
