Nashville International Airport Development thread

So if Hilton winds up being the flag, does that equal a renaming of the Hilton Nashville Airport on Elm Hill Pike?

I'd prefer a different flag, such as Hyatt. I've stayed at the Grand Hyatt DFW Airport and it was very nice, connected to Terminal D, & has a rooftop pool overlooking the western side of the airport.

That is one big crane at @Fly_Nashville Over the next 12 months our partners at @HenselPhelps will be placing the steel for the future roof. Looking up at BNA!

The terminal hotel will officially be Hilton BNA International. Some stats:

- 14 stories with 292 rooms (10 stories on top of 4 story garage)

- $177 million cost (hotel $95 million, garage $82 million)

- Chartwell Hospitality is the developer

- Rabun and HBA International are the architects

- McMurray Construction is the contractor

- High design Grand Lobby with public artwork

- Grand Bar and Music Lounge, plus a high end restaurant, open air dining, and a cafe

- 14th floor Glass SkyBar Lounge and Sky Pool.

- 8,000 sq. ft. grand ballroom

- Fitness center on the top floor

- Scheduled opening of late 2023

We plan to place 3 x 90 foot columns tonight each weighing approximately 110,000 pounds each.

Here’s one of four columns placed so far at ⁦@Fly_Nashville⁩.  The columns will support the new roof over the main terminal and international arrival facility. Each column is approximately 90 feet tall and weighs 110,000 pounds. That’s one big yellow mobile crane.

Have you noticed two columns popping out of the terminal roof on the Departures level? Those are structural columns for the new roof canopy we're adding as part of #BNAVision. It'll begin taking shape later this month!

There are four columns standing right now: 
> Pre-security, two of the columns go from Level 1 (the old rental car check-in area) and out the roof. 
> On the secure side, two more columns stand in the old central security checkpoint.

That is really nice.  I remember the "good old days" when about the only way to relax on extended layovers was to watch pay TVs.

Great new aerial photos of the concrete being placed on Taxiway Hotel. Awesome progress on the $60+ million dollar project to rebuild Runway 2R/20L at BNA. Once complete it will last another 30-years. Great job at @Fly_Nashville⁩.

MILESTONE: Big day for John C. Tune Airport®! JE Dunn Construction topped out the new air traffic control tower this morning, and we couldn't have asked for better weather. 

The 99-foot-tall air traffic control tower will be a major improvement for the airport when it becomes operational next fall. Thank you to JE Dunn, Atkins North America, Pond, CTBX Aviation Group, LLC and the MNAA team for their hard work to bring this project to life. #TowerTuesday Federal Aviation Administration
