Couldn't get a good angle of the new build, the first gate with open windows was C6 and at that point it's too far to get a meaningful shot. I could hear a couple people working on disassembling the food court, there's some breaks in the sheetrock where you can peek in and just be disappointed. There's a way to peek in the old O'Charleys and I was enraged at how little had been done to demo the space since it's been closed for months.

There was a special guest on the tarmac and the canopy construction was full steam ahead.

Party Fowl officially announced to Concourse D and Chick-Fil-A to the A/B food court. Sounds like Party Fowl will be open first. Also the garage parking rates went up, it's up to $16 for 30 minutes up to 24 hours. Valet up to $20/day.

Concourse D definitely needs some food options so this is a welcome addition. With that said, I really hope my neighbor on the plane doesn't choose to go for Poultrygeist before boarding.

I read pre-Covid (at least it feels that long ago) that we were getting some additions elsewhere in the airport. Has anyone heard anything new on Five Daughters?

We don't know, yet. The type of aircraft, closing Concourse A, and other factors will drive those decisions

I have to wonder if American is getting pushed out here, but United+a ULCC or two makes the most sense as United will lose their physical gates.

That is a future possibility, but it is not possible now due to time constraints

To be a downer on this new satellite concourse, I think using shuttle buses to go back and forth will not be popular with travelers. I never fly without seeing numerous late arrivers rushing to their gates. I also can see arriving passengers, who just want to get an Uber and leave, frustrated at standing around waiting for the next shuttle, not to mention those connecting passengers arriving on delayed flights. I’m sure all will be perfect but the pessimist in me persists.

Delta SkyClub status (opening Q2 2022):
- Delta requested a 2 year extension, due to pandemic 
- March 1, 2021 was the original start date for rental payments
- June 1, 2022 (or date of beneficial occupancy) will be the new start date
- 10 year term lease, to begin on date of beneficial occupancy or by July 1, 2022. lease expires June 30, 2032
- October 2021 interior buildout construction will begin ($13 million Delta)
- completion date should be well ahead of July 1, 2022
- the additional space will allow Delta to drive additional flights to BNA and potentially expand for international operations in the future

Food:
- BNA is not happy with Fraport and are having daily status calls with them
- customer experience is really bad due to lack of available food (#1 issue currently)
- Party Foul and Burger King in Concourse D late. Also Puckett's

- 14 concessions are contracted to be open May 31, most (if not all) are expected to be late
- 4 of 14 open
- 9 of 14 u/c
- 1 of 14 no start date yet
- build out allowance: retail - 90 days, food and beverage 120 days

Notes:
- 2 years ahead of schedule for installation of terrazzo floors
- snowstorm cost about $2 million for snow removal
- May 4 total road closure for installation of first steel beams
- new BNA monument sign in works as part of the road improvements

Huge lulz about the food points. MNAA can be as mad as they want about Fraport but who decided to shut down the C food court for renovations? Fraport or them? It's almost as if they hired the people who were responsible for the new Dillard's wing at Green Hills to handle this part of BNA Vision.

I think tearing the sheetrock down around some of the coming soon places so people knew something was almost ready would help. Let people see kitchen equipment being installed, or at least post some progress report photos online.

Had our first experience at BNA since February and now I fully understand what you guys are talking about with the food in C/D. Someone really screwed that up. I saw some extremely frustrated people. This needs to be better communicated so people can prepare ahead of time. The only thing that saved us was me seeing chatter on this forum and deciding we should find something to eat ahead of time just in case.

It’s bad enough that I just heard someone talking about it at an MDW bar top.

 BNA® CANOPY WATCH: Rise of the Steel
10 Nights of 100 — 59 more tons of steel were set this past week, bringing the total to 399 tons for Area A!

The first section of what will be a pedestrian bridge over Terminal Drive is now in place (weighing close to 30 tons), along with four more horizontal beams weighing between 6.5 tons and 8 tons each. The pedestrian bridge will connect Terminal Garage 1 to the central terminal.

With the weight of these steel components, you can see why lane closures at the terminal are necessary at night, while construction is taking place: out of an abundance of caution and for your safety. Soon, you'll see more of the pedestrian bridge constructed over Terminal Drive, followed by enormous spine trusses. Watch for updates!

Fraport is late getting construction started and is now up against a May 31st deadline. So, it has became an all at once, all out race to the finish

ALL SEVEN vendors that had previously signed leases for Concourse D backed out, due to the pandemic. ALL SEVEN. So, Fraport has certainly had their own challenges in addition to their own issues. Only 8 of 52 vendors remained open during the pandemic. Fraport and the pandemic couldn't have had worse timing plus passenger numbers are recovering 2x faster than the most optimistic projections

3 shifts, working around the clock, was used to get 8th and Roast open. Fraport has not taken any additional steps to speed up the current construction. Fraport faces steep penalties if the May 31st date is missed

Sounds to me like there's opportunity for food service companies at BNA!  Is that really the case?  What if a franchisee for (say) Chikfila or Zaxby's or even Mcdonalds was ready to step up to the plate... while  not "Nashville flavor" would they have a slot at the airport ready for them?
