If you look at its lines compared to the Westin, they are pretty much perpendicular, as far as I can tell.  Probably just an optical illusion because of the crane tower attached.

btw, kudos to whichever Metro department is in charge of these.       With the recent rains and cooler temps, these hanging plant containers are in full bloom all over downtown and add a nice touch.

Love it. Some nice landscaping always makes things look much better.

Alas, if only it still had several of the buildings that once adorned it (Hotel Tulane, all of Harvey's, the old theaters and the original Watkins Building with its beautiful tower, and the Maxwell House Hotel).
