I edited some skyline photos because I was interested to see what downtown would look like if building heights were doubled.

Getting some LA vibes out of that first one... so basically, the Nashville skyline is the LA skyline, just scaled down by 50%.  lol

I ‘m liking the Pinnacle in it’s taller form. I think the Batman building looks odd taller. Perhaps if the spires were taller it would look more proportional.

Thanks for the hypothetical pics! I think two or three super talls are all that is needed to make Nashville look very cosmopolitan. No city can compete with New York, but some get credit for being large metropolises that only have 3-6 super talls. Where Nashville kills it right now is through what's at ground level, i.e., an attractive, compact urban core with a ton of things to do. I remember when Nashville had a nothing downtown and a main drag that was a porno district, and I had no idea that we would ever be where we are now.

i think with the ground activation will (eventually) come height. i know people are pining for crowns and 700+ footers - i mean, i wouldn't mind one or two - but the fact that downtown nashville is such a great place to be on the ground is huge. imo.

That’s only 3 years ago?! The demolition before the Westin construction hasn’t even started yet, and that 300 footer has been open for business for almost a year and a half.

^ ^ ^ Yes.  Demo of the Cokesbury Bookstore and other structures on the Westin lot happened on Dec. 15, 2014.  So, technically, 3 years and 2 days.  ; )
