I think many wanted to have the stage on the opposite side of the property to maximum capacity.  I think we see why they chose this orientation too.

PS loved one of the old renderings of a baseball stadium there too.

I really wanted a Bergdorf Goodman's on that spot, but is Nashville really ready for a Bergdorf's?

So much has changed in this photo, even in a year. Broadstone in the Gulch is sitting 12 stories high now, Lifeway Building nearly complete (2nd floor in this photo), JW Marriott appears to be below grade, Cambria barely out of the ground, 505CST, TriBrand, Olmstead, all the filler stuff at Capitol View,

I know people despise the Hyatt Place, but the Encore doesn't look like it is aging well at all. The concrete looks filthy.

I was actually driving past it and thinking the same thing today. It looks much older than it is. The Hyatt Place just needs to be covered by buildings on all sides so it's not as noticeable. Someone pointed out a few months ago in another thread that it actually doesn't look as bad if you're looking south towards it, from where the building is on the very right edge of the picture.

Call me crazy, but I actually like the aged/dirty concrete look. It gives just a bit of age to a mostly glass/stucco canyon.

On another note, I cam across this new city view cam on Fox 17's website. It's not on top of the ASC from what I can tell. Anyone have an idea where this cam is located?

^^That Fox camera is one of the best views to capture the density of downtown.  Love that!

I prefer dirty marble or granite for age rather than dirty 10-year-old concrete.

I wonder if this is at the water reservoir? (thats my best guess)
