What is so interesting to me, is that the core of downtown (not SoBro, Gulch), sans the 505 and even the Viridian from 2008, hasn't changed much for many years.  Granted we have had many buildings updated and refurbished like on Printers Alley with boutique hotels, but for the most part not much new has been built in 25 years.  It's just another reason I hope Tony can pull off the new building at Church St park.

Well, you do have the old convention center site (5th & Broad) under construction that'll add two high rise buildings.  You also have Nashville Yards, which I consider to be part of the downtown core.    I wonder if it's just cheaper to build in the Gulch and SoBro  because of the land availability and not having to demolish nothing more than a one or two story building.
