NES and the cable companies will gladly bury those lines if your projects pay for them to do so, and if it is feasible to do so.   Most developers don't want to fork out that extra cash, and most publicly funded road projects don't have the cash.  Per the photo above, some of that power grid around Division St. project had already been relocated from the Convention Center project a few years earlier, only to be relocated again.     Those are pretty healthy power lines.........i cant imagine burying them being an easy task.

You are right as to these particular lines. I assume the city's strategy is to wait for that area to be more developed before forking over the money to bury them and/or waiting for a developer to bury them. Otherwise, they risk having to dig them up to be moved again. Also, these being on new metal poles look much better than most of the above ground lines around the city.

As long as you're not home in the afternoons to bear the West-facing heat, you would have some amazing sunsets, and lots of cranes, on the West side.
