My recollection of a dramatic city entrance is accurate, but exactly which city was a little off...the one I had in mind was the entry to Pittsburgh upon exit from the Fort Pitt Tunnel. Bam! Welcome to Pittsburgh.

I almost lost control of my car the first time I exited that tunnel — truly breathtaking...especially since I wasn't expecting it. There should be a warning sign of some sorts lol.

The skyline is growing to the point that the camera has to keep zooming out to see it all.

Now you're starting to get over in that area that I think give the best skyline shots.   The interstate bridge over the river (kinda behind you and over your left shoulder) is an amazing shot.  Only problem is there's nowhere to stop and take a photo without dying.

Add from l-r,  the Swerdling towers, the 805 Lea, the Embassy Suites, the Four Seasons, (possibly Broadwest), the residential behind Hume Fogg, (possibly the MGM), A/B, and Amazon towers and that will be a solid wall of towers in the photo.

Perhaps my favorite part of seeing all these towers be constructed is the pleasant surprise as they pop up in unexpected places in the skyline. Like I would not think you'd be able to see the Endeavor Development from the Cumberland, and yet there it is filling a nice gap in our iconic skyline angle. The Embassy Suites will also fill a really nice open space between Pinnacle and Bridgestone.

I will be coming for my annual trip a month earlier next year.   It is warmer in the Las Carolinas.

LOL... the COLDEST I've ever been was in Laurinburg in mid-November. The wind coming in off the lake at St. Andrews was b-r-r-r-r-r-r-u-t-a-l.

Couple more random photos of downtown and some of your prominent buildings.   Today. 

Really enjoyed the Tennessee State Museum and it was warm inside!  The pedestrian bridge over the river is great even if it was icy today.

A few photos taken today before I left work. Photos taken from upper floors of UBS Tower. (Images may seem grainy partially due to the fact that UBS hasn't had the windows washed in ages lol).
