I love how visible Fifth + Broadway is from... well, Broadway. A lot of the pictures taken there, and just visual angles, thanks mainly to the height of the bars and whatnot, are completely devoid of towers, with the occasional exception of Pinnacle and AT&T... these towers are actually kind of a big change.

The Granny White house, and another one next door, were propped up and completely rebuilt.   I am not sure why the roof was saved but they went to a lot of trouble to do it,  so there must be a reason.

I should point out the the house bigeasy was talking about is the one directly above.  The large white house is to the right of it.  But both were renovations.

Awesome!! Thanks for posting that. I didn't know at the time I posted last year, but come to find out that my wife (girlfriend at this time last year) actually lived in the house on stilts when she first moved to Nashville about 5 years ago.

A buddy of mine here in the Greater Washington DC area visited Nashville for the first time last year.  He actually commented on how you could forget that you're in a big city when you're on Broadway bar hopping because you don't see the skyline .  He said it was like being on  main street in a small town but with too much traffic and drunk hillbillies... LOL

Ahhh, but that's the 'charm' that the MDHA loves to preserve. Anything of substance must not be allowed to encroach on the Honky Tonk experience. It's really sort of a two-edged sword... millions visit Music City just for that.

I understand MDHA (or whatever government entity) can hold Nashville back on certain developments, but wrt Broadway, there is nothing I would change about it.

I wouldn't take Broadway back 30 years like some, but I'd be okay with taking it back 10 or 15, prior to the era of FGL House, Whiskey Row, and Kid Rock's...
