You know, it may be an odd thing to say given the fact that I am well aware of both the location and height of Broadwest, but I'm not sure I really realized the full scale of the impact that Broadwest is going to have on the skyline until I saw the above photo.  It is going to be so imposing in that spot!

And that’s the shorter of the two towers. The hotel/condo tower will be very prominent at that corner.

And there are two other ~30 story resi towers going up adjacent to Broadwest.

Pretty amazing shot... doesn’t include Sobro, Germantown, WeHo, CBD...

TBT: The Wagoner Hotel in 1908.  The research of the pic said it was on 3rd Ave., but didn't mention the cross street.  It may possibly be 212 Broadway, which was built in 1900 (NE corner of 3rd and Broadway and currently home to Fed Ex on first floor), but I don't think so.  Perhaps someone can enlighten me further.

^^Doesn't quite look like the same building...but not sure.  If so...there's been a major update somewhere along the way.

The Waggoner European Hotel was at the NW corner of 3rd & Deaderick, across from the courthouse (then City Hall).

Thank you for your investigative work... I was going up and down the street on google street view but couldn't find anything that fit the bill, but I guess that makes sense now.  Shame we tore that beauty down for a concrete parking garage.

It appears that the southeast and southwest corners will have fins.  These struts would be for anchoring them, methinks.
