It was on a news release a few years back as part of a capital spending program. I think, without looking it is on the development map with a crude rendering.

I knew the hotel was always on their list of plans for the arena, but I wonder with COVID if those plans have been put on the back burner.

That angular addition looks awful! If they try to put an ordinary boxy tower right there next to that strikingly curved building, someone(s) should be arrested for a serious crime. If they go forward with a hotel, nothing less than a Jetsons-style building will do.

My office was on the 22nd floor of the (former) SunTrust Center in April of 1998 and I watched it go across the Adelphia Coliseum construction site.  You could also see the tornado turn slightly to the right as it went across East Nashville thus sparing Opryland but hitting the Hermitage.  We had a few cracked windows but no serious damage.   Offices in the (old) First American Center had windows blown out and papers sucked out by the storm.

I was deep inside TPAC when it took a direct hit. That place is such a bunker in the lower floors, we didn’t know anything was happening until the power went out! I hope to never experience a tornado that close again, but if I had to experience ONE, I’m happy it was deep in the heart of TPAC.
