Maybe even two towers...fi they're true towers and not just another squatty box.  This photo also reflects that aspect of our projects as well just as this one from MyNashvillePhotos shows

I was going to try and work on this more this weekend and realize that this is a first effort. This is a rendition of future and under construction towers in the downtown and possible East Bank area.

I worked at Street & Street Architects over 30 years ago when the Hutton was still an office building.  The firm was  in the rooftop penthouse and my desk had a sweeping view of the core.  None of these other buildings were there then.  The second tallest structure on West End was the  Catholic Cathedral tower.  Palmer Plaza was just under construction then.    The building was much smaller then as when I joined ESa and the building was made into the Hutton, I suggested that the slab extensions serving as a continuous suns shade on each floor would probably structurally  support a light live load like for a hotel room.  This allowed about a 45% increase in the square footage of the new floorplate.

I personally think, with a fair amount of quiet and smug laughter, that Palmer Plaza was once a prominent building in that frame.

The would-be view from the would-be Hensler tower!  I'm seriously doubting that it will happen at least in its latest announced iteration. Hoping I'm wrong, but it's been too long since their selection by MDHA to develop that site. Coming up on 6 years. The garage has been completed now for 6 months.  Grading permit was applied for over 4 months ago; and shell permit nearly a year ago.  I wonder if the two large mixed-use projects at 2nd and 3rd and Peabody/Lea scared the investors for this one. At least they never dug the hole.

I've been wondering the same.  I too hope you're wrong.  I think having some real height near the foot of the bridge as you enter SoBro would be stunning and a nice gateway into that area.

I think we see some news on this pretty soon.

Gee, maybe there's a backlog at the permits department.

I hope the geographically protected sightlines at that location will help this one stay alive.  Seems like a good investment to me even with Cumulus and 2&P.  Of course, it's not my money.
