IMO this photo shows why Nashville needs some architectural variety.   I just see box after box in this shot.  Hoping the two new trapezoidal buildings in NY ushers in a non-box or non flat roof trend.

Here is a shot taken yesterday on Fourth Avenue North showing the Service Source (formerly Third National Bank) Building and surrounding towers.  The black Continental convertible is often parked in front of the Bobby Hotel.

At this point, I'd be happy to just see someone pyramid the top 10 floors of a building just to break-up the horizontal look of the skyline.

If Mobile can have these, why can't we get something more interesting?

The taller building (Battlehouse Tower I think?) looks pretty good, but in my opinion that bird cage they installed on the shorter tower after the fact looks absolutely ridiculous.  lol

Agreed!!!!! "Bird cage" lol    A spire should be (only) about xx% of the total height of the building itself.  I'm not versed in design, but my eye tells me there's a over/under point where it looks acceptable. "Good" is in the eye of the beholder.
