No way it's the Vorhees building on 8th. Looks like the Ryman is within a block of it.  Might be the brick condos next to the Renaissance Hotel

Definitely not Vorhees. Could it be records storage building where the Moxy is now? The bridge to the right is  the beginning of the Shelby Street Bridge. It's hard to tell from this perspective.

I recall that CB Ragland once had a warehouse and tire company in that area. Perhaps it was their building.

If you take a line from the prebseterian church  to in front of the  Ryman as 5th Ave.,, this has to be out 2nd or 3rd.  It can't be the Moxy because  the photo is south of the long ramp up to the Shelby bridge.  The Moxy site is north of Demonbreum.   This building is very similar to many concrete buildings of the 1930 that housed businesses.and it is very similat to the old McQuiddey building adjacent to the Ryman on the north side.  With the move of many of these light industry uses further out, a good many of theses were converted to records storage in the 70s & 80s.   They escaped demolition by and large because they were concrete and brick craphouses and too expensive for cheap demo. However, I think this is a building that was demolished  for the construction of the interstate loop probably near 3rd and Lafayette. where the arched steel overpasess are now.  That is my best guess from the process of elimination.  Unfortunately that area is one that always seems to be just beyond the edge of old aerial photos.

This photo would've been taken from at or just below Peabody and east of Hermitage Avenue. That warehouse building on the left was located just above where Hermitage merged into 1st Avenue on the east side of the street, which would now be the SE corner of 1st/Hermitage & Korean Veterans. It was still there until about 20 years ago, demolished for the KVB expansion.
