This is a good picture indicating growth to the ride side of downtown (south) in this image, but overall, it's probably one of the more lackluster downtown Nashville images I've seen during the building boom in the last 2-3 years. 

For me, I think it may be the green hill around the capital building, or the parking lot across the street from it, along with the not yet green trees. And then the brick building (what is that building?) with the chimney has that "1940s vintage" sort of look. It makes downtown appear smaller than what it is, to me anyway.

The hill and high elevation of that area kind of blocks the view from the rest of the skyline. The capital hill area is definitely lacking when comes to development, at least comparing to the rest of the city.

I just chuckle at the CMT building next to batman. With (5 floors?) of office on top of about a dozen levels of parking.  

Would be cool if more parking decks stuck a few occupied levels on top.

I would be fine if the entire building came down and was replaced. It's not really an icon, just five stories of offices atop a garage.  it's a total waste of space and could be replaced with a much nicer and useful building.

If they had done some type of design feature for the garage portion it wouldn't be too bad of an idea.  But they literally just chose to subsidize the office buildings with an ugly garage.

They should strongly consider adding some type of artistic cladding to the garage portion of the building.  

   

Below is the Museum Garage in Miami.  Not to every ones taste but it fits in to the Miami Design District and people love taking pictures of it.  CMT could possibly pull this off with a string instrument design.

In all likelihood CMT is simply a tenant in the office space atop the parking garage. I wouldn’t expect them to spend money on cladding the garage.

True... I'm just suggesting that whomever owns the building could do artistic cladding to make it look better.  I was just thinking since CMT is in the building a musical theme might be of interest.  And, even if they leave, it would still fit given the musical influence of the city.

Love this shot! Looks to be from around roughly Nov/Dec 2021? Judging by one of the office towers to the left still partially not filled in with glass.  Excited to see the 2 or parking lots in this shot developed, which I'm sure will happen in the next 3-5 years, as Nashville is currently going.

Also, the Ritz Carlton lot you can make out to the right of the pic, will be awesome to see that filled in by this time next year with construction.

Ah, really? OK, I think what threw me was I couldn't see Giarratana's tower going up. But I think it's blocked by the Hyatt--and I can see the red crane poking out above it.

This shot will dramatically change with such tremendous density and infill by this time in say, 2024.
