I don't know when either, but just pointing out some things that are/aren't there in the photo:

No Interstate bridge over CUmberland north of DT. According to Wikipedia, it was completed in March 1971 (I never knew its name is Lyle Fulton Bridge).  And no Metrocenter beyond it.

No bank (I forget the name of the original) building across Church from L&C. I know it was the site of the original Maxwell House hotel (not in photo) burned down around 1962.

The now-old main Public Library looks like it has construction around it. SO when did it open?

One of the bridges from DT to the East side is being demolished. I believe that's the Woodland Street bridge. According to Wikipedia, it was replaced in 1965.

Some of the original courthouse square along the river was still standing. I don't know when it was demolished.

Seigenthaler Bridge (I forgot its original name... Shelby?) was a straight shot from the bridge, west through town. I've never known it to be a straight route, but I moved to Nashville in 1988.

DT south of Broadway is a lot denser than I ever knew. And it appears that the streets in that area of DT are better connected than they became later (when the MCC was built).  I can't really tell a lot from this pic.

Photo from Metro Nashville Archives Facebook page. They do not post a date, but comments suggest it is earlier than 1969, as Sulpher Dell is in the photo and it was demolished in 1969.

This photo would've been taken around 1966. The (old) library was completed that year. The Parkway Towers haven't been built yet, which would rise in 1967.

Also, no sign of the Jefferson Street bridge over the Cumberland. I wonder when that was built?

The current Jefferson Street bridge  is the newest of the nashville bridges and was built  maybe 25 or so years ago.  You can see the OLD Jefferson Street bridge in the photo as a  three span truss bridge.  the new one was built long after the photo was taken.

The current Jefferson Street bridge opened in 1994.
