I remember how excited I was to learn of this addition.  Back then, I would literally buy the annual World Almanac and Book of Facts because it would list the skyscrapers in all the major U.S. cities.  I remember when I saw this tower listed for the first time with an asterisk (under construction) and was so hyped to know a 600' tower was coming to my favorite skyline!  It would also list the top 50 cities by population and I'd always check to see where Nashville was.  Back then, I remember how far down the list we were.  An look at us now.

Those two parking lots on the north side of the bridge, are just prime spots for development! 
I look at how close the AT&T tower is to Broadway and can’t figure out why another substantial tower couldn’t fit in there.

My brother-in-law had an older World Almanac and I photo'd the Nashville part of the tall buildings page, here.

The height on the Andrew Jackson building should be 286' and not what is shown. I don't remember the year.
