Well, I agree about that being on Commerce, but this was decades before the current Federal Courthouse was even designed.  i am not sure why these structere were demolished at the time as there was no project proposed to replace them. They were surface parking lots for years.

Presumably, these were the half-block of buildings demolished between 7th and Polk Place on the south side of Church, with the photo taken from the alleyway looking north from the old parking garage. It stood empty from after the demo (late 1995) until the construction of the new federal courthouse.

That parking lot on the corner of 6th & Demonbreun is begging for a tall boy ! 5 or 6 levels of parking open to the church when needed, should entice them to sell It would be a win- win for them.

The surface parking lots space this city had just from the 90s to today is crazy. Things have truly changed it seems overnight.  More growth to come.

Projects I have heard that are supposed to start this year. These are the ones off the top of my head.

Congress Group 2nd & Peabody by the end of the year.

8th & Demonbreun Hotel at years end.

Trio at 621 Middleton toward the end of the year.

Ritz-Carlton July ??? we will see.

1601 Broadway looking good for a 2023 GB.

Alamo Manhattan looking good for a 2023 GB.

901 Dr MLK JR BLVD should start this year. Giarratana self-financing the project.

125 11th Ave North is supposed to start this year according to media reports.

Element Hotel in the Gulch is supposed to start this year according to media reports.

Voce Hotel & Residences to start in fall of 2023 according to media reports.

The Sinclair is to start this year according to media reports.

18th & Patterson loan approved.

What are the  Voce, 125 11th Avenue North and the Alamo Manhattan projects?  Couldn't find them on the exc. dev. map. Did a search for them, but probably listed under another name. Is the 125 11th Ave. project the one next to Gibson on Church?

Alamo Manhattan is the Marriott on Commerce, and 125 11th Ave is the big brother to Gibson

This shot from the I-65 bridge north of Jefferson Street is hard to get but this week I had a chance because my son was driving me to work in the early morning.  The out-of-focus trees on the right let you know we are traveling at high speed.    Neuhoff blocks the view of the Capitol.
