Bellevue council endorses light rail

BELLEVUE — Three days before Sound Transit is scheduled to decide what type of high-capacity transit to pursue on the Eastside, Bellevue joined neighboring cities in recommending the regional agency choose a light rail option over fast buses.

Bellevue City Council members voted 5-2 in favor of extending light rail from Seattle to downtown Bellevue and on to Redmond.

It will be interesting to see the prospective route. It will go across the lake over I-90 for sure, not sure about the rest. Since the rail line is being closed, maybe they could swipe away some of that right of way from the county, at least between Factoria and downtown. They could build an alternative bike path through the lake hills connector parks.
