What Southern cities have you visited as a tourist?

I am interested in learning what cities everyone has been to as a tourist, not on business or visiting family. What places did you study about in advance and then take a vaction at for no other reason than to enjoy yourself? If you feel the family ties are necessary because you planned both in coordination, that is okay as well.

Only been to Texas tagging along on business trips though. Surprisingly, I've done more travelling in the northeast even though I live here (relatives).

*Note that I'm only listing major cities. I've been to many smaller ones, but those are hard to keep track of.

I suppose that, since I live outside of it, you could probabvly say I visit Atlanta as a tourist or for other reasons (shopping, for example).

However, here are ones I have visited outside of Atlanta:

Georgia:

Athens, Savannah & Tybee Island, Augusta, Columbus, Warm Springs, Brunswick & St. Simon's Island, Dalton (for carpet), Macon-Warner Robins, Valdosta, the tourist trap known as Helen, Blairsville, Cartersville, Adairsville, Marietta, Mableton, Kennesaw, Roswell, countless small towns

Florida:

Lake Wales (grandfather lived down there), Tampa, Panama City, Orlando, Daytona Beach, the cities around the Space Center, St. Augustine

South Carolina:

Greenville, Anderson, Charleston, Beaufort, Myrtle Beach, Hilton Head Island, Columbia

North Carolina:

Charlotte, Asheville, Outer Banks, Cherokee

Tennessee:

Nashville, Chattanooga, Pigeon Forge, Sevierville, Knoxville

Alabama:

Anniston, Birmingham (actually, I really more or less just drove through here)

Mississippi:

Pascagoula/Biloxi/Gulfport area

Texas:

San Antonio

Virginia:

Alexandria, Virginia Beach
