It is amazing how tall this building is. It is an amazing feat of both construction and architecture and will compete with skyscrapers for decades to come without doubt.

I agree. I don't think the US will ever come close to constructing a building that tall as anything above 2000' is federal airspace.

Hi all.

Here is what was supposed to be the steel erection schedule.

2000947611056778030_rs.jpg

As we can see they are not anywhere close to this pace.

Whether this will effect the scheduled middle of July beginning of spire lifting, the end of October top out, or the middle of August '09 completion dates remains to be seen.

Here is just 2 of many fantastic night shots from Omaro. These are part of absolutely the best set of night shots ever ! The 3 posted a few pages ago are also very nice ( I can't recall the name of the photog ) but Omaro's are of comparable quality and much more different angles and number of shots. I encourage everyone to go to Bikes' Site in photo's, Feb 12 and check them out !

Here is some renders of the lobbies interiors from SOM. These are new to my collection - I already had 3 of the interior and 4 of the exterior of the lobbies ( Lobbies - as there are 3 of them ).

Hi all.

Here is the schedule from near a year ago. I put some text in to show what the horizontal lines represent.

2001516867590347353_rs.jpg

As we can see they were to be at level 160 in the second week of Dec '07 and starting tier 19 in the second week of Mar '08. They are seriously behind this schedule.

We will see if they make the third week of sept '08 top out date - or the second week of Aug '09 completion date.

This thing is so kewl - I love watching it grow - doesn't matter to me if they are behind schedule.

cheers

Hi all

Here is a very crude but somewhat acurate representation of the size of tier 15 and tier 18. I chose these 2 because they are roundish.

This thing might look thin at the top but it is still way bigger than most houses at tier 18.

cheers

Hi all.

So kool - once the columns are up for the first level of tier 18 - level 160 mezz. 3 - we will have the tallest structure on earth ! I realize the cranes have been taller for a while now but they aren't part of the structure.

Some pics - click the thumbs and then view original ( then in XP if your settings are default click on the pic ) to see full size as some are very large.

I can't imagine too many US developers wanting to push 2000 ft regardless of federal airspace or not. However, the pictures of this building are amazing. I can't believe how it dwaves the many buildings that surround it; so much so that some just appear to be photo-shopped photos.

It will be interesting to see as the glass continues to rise with the building.
